Business aviation services provider TAG Aviation has established an Australian operation to capture expected growth in the country's business aviation market.

The new company, TAG Aviation Australia, has facilities at Sydney's Mascot airport and is being headed by Neil Gibson as chief executive. He has moved to Australia from TAG's Farnborough, UK business. Gibson was at last week's ABACE show in Hong Kong to launch the company.

TAG Aviation Australia is an extension of the group's worldwide aircraft management and charter business. The company has yet to place aircraft on its books, but that is expected within the next two months, with Gibson suggesting it will be managing six aircraft within 12 months. If it is successful, TAG could open additional offices in the country, possibly Perth.
