Taiwan's air force has taken delivery of three Eurocopter EC225 Super Puma helicopters to be used for search and rescue missions.
The trio were delivered last week to Taiwan's Jiayi Ji air base aboard a chartered Antonov An-124 cargo aircraft, the air force said.
The EC225s will serve in a number of additional roles, including acting as air ambulances over sea and in Taiwan's mountainous regions. The helicopters are equipped to operate at night and in bad weather.
