TAP Maintenance & Engineering Brazil has received certification from the US FAA to perform heavy maintenance on Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft.
The affiliate company is already certified by the FAA for work on Airbus A300B4, A300-600 and A310 variants as well as several Boeing and Embraer types. The company is also evaluating A320 maintenance.
TAP Maintenance & Engineering has fully integrated its Portuguese and Brazilian units with bases in Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro and Porte Alegre.
"TAP M&E Brazil has definitively entered the Airbus maintenance market," says the company's senior vice-president Brazil, Nestor Mauro Koch.
"We are already certified for all the widebody models of the Airbus family and we are checking on the technical and economic feasibility of beginning services for the A320 family, thus completing all the models made by Airbus."
TAP M&E Brazil has been a member of the Airbus MRO network enabling it to perform maintenance on the manufacturer's aircraft, since December last year.
