Romanian flag carrier Tarom intends to sell its five Ilyushin Il-62/M long-range airliners in October. According to Tarom the sealed-bid auction will start at $3.7 million per aircraft and is open to all-comers. Any money received from the sale would be put towards a new regional jet or turboprop from a Western manufacturer. This latest sale is part of the airline's plan to dispose of its ex-Soviet fleet.
