The first captive flight of a Taurus stand-off weapon on a Saab JAS39 Gripen has successfully taken place at Linköping, Sweden, says a member of the consortium developing the weapon. The KEPD 150 (seen on the inner port underwing pylon) is a member of the Taurus family of weapons being developed by Germany's Dasa/LFK and Sweden's Celsius. The test of the advanced, long-range precision weapon is part of the definition phase being carried out by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). Taurus says the weapon could be operational on Gripen within five years.
