Russia's ministry of economic development and trade has extended for three years an agreement with Transaero under which the airline is exempted from paying Rb 3.7 billion ($13.2 million) in import tax for Western aircraft. Transaero chairman Aleksandr Pleshakov has agreed to order 10 locally built Tupolev Tu-204/214 airliners by 15 February. Russia's minister for economic development and trade German Gref says similar exemptions for aircraft imports will be available to all Russian airlines in the "near future".
