Tayside Aviation has landed a ú6 million ($9.7 million)contract from the UK Ministry of Defence to provide flying scholarship training for up to 520 people a year. The five-year deal, which includes an option for a two-year extension, starts on 1 April. The Dundee, Scotland-based flying school has been conducting the courses, designed to interest young people in a career as an officer in the Royal Air Force or Royal Navy, for the past three years. Tayside Aviation, which operates from Fife Airport in Glenrothes, has purchased a Piper Warrior to supplement its Diamond DV20 Katana and Cessna 152 trainers.
