It is also showing a Cascade multi-junction space solar panel which is twice as powerful as a single-layered panel of the same size.

An updated solid state magnetic compass calibration system can also be seen.

"It is a faster and more efficient replacement for outdated, labour-intensive, compass calibrators," says director Didier Poirson.

"This system is cheaper to run and very reliable. Lower operating, training and maintenance costs are just a few of the advantages of the system.

"It is 20% lighter and less cumbersome than older ones."

The heart of the system is the control console, designed to accommodate the calibration requirements of aircraft of the future.

There is also a monitor, turntable and alignment tool kit.
