Poland’s defence ministry indicates that 10 companies have expressed an interest in participating in initial evaluations, ahead of its planned acquisition of as many as 40 attack helicopters.
Launched on 8 July, the initial phase of “Project Raven” aims to analyse the market to shape the nation’s eventual requirement, as Warsaw seeks to replace the Polish land force’s fleet of 29 Mil Mi-24D/Vs with modern rotorcraft.
The ministry says “10 Polish and foreign entities offering both ready-made helicopters, as well as components for their assembly” responded to the initial solicitation.
It will issue a request for information “to verified and selected bidders” later this month, it adds.
Offers are likely to include the Airbus Helicopters Tiger HAD, Boeing AH-64E Apache and AgustaWestland AW129 Mangusta.
