Cathay Pacific and Tenzing Communications have demonstrated high-speed on-board data networks on a passenger aircraft for the first time. The system will soon be available on Cathay flights giving passengers access to the internet and e-mail at 11Mb/s. The airline will begin a fleet-wide roll-out of the service from the third quarter of this year, which should be implemented on all aircraft by 2003.
