Thai Airways International has confirmed a deal to buy four Airbus A350-900 and five A320 aircraft.
The airline included these in a 13 June announcement about a 37-aircraft acquisition as part of its fleet modernisation programme.
It will operate the A350s on its long haul services to Europe, while the A320s will be used on domestic and regional routes, said Airbus.
The Star Alliance carrier also confirmed plans to lease eight more A350-900s and six more A320s.
Thai Airways said on 13 June that it will lease six A350s from Aviation Lease and Finance, to be delivered in 2017, and two from CIT Aerospace that will deliver the aircraft in 2016. It will also lease the six A320s from RBS Aviation Capital for delivery in 2012-2013.
The aircraft will deliver both lower operating costs and cleaner environmental performance, said Thai Airways' president Piyasvasti Amranand in the statement.
