Regional carrier Thai Smile will take over three of the routes previously owned by its parent carrier, Thai Airways, this year.
Starting 16 August, it will take over Thai's four times daily Bangkok-Krabi route. It will then add another daily service to this route on 27 October, before increasing it further to six times daily on 16 January 2013.
Thai Smile is also slated to take over Thai's twice daily Bangkok-Surat Thani operations.
Moreover, starting 16 September, Thai's Bangkok-Hyderabad route that is currently operated thrice weekly will also be under Thai Smile. The route is scheduled to be operated daily.
A daily service between Bangkok-Phuket and Chiang Mai-Phuket as well as a twice daily Bangkok-Chiang Mai route will be launched in October to complement Thai's routes.
The carrier is also planning to launch a Phuket-Singapore service on 16 January 2013, although it did not state the route's operating frequency. This route is subject to landing slots availability in Singapore, says its managing director Woranate Laprabang.
Thai Smile has one Airbus A320 aircraft in its fleet and plans to operate up to 11 aircraft by 2015.
