Thai Airways International's low-cost carrier Nok Air is launching services on three of the routes that grounded carrier PB Air was serving.

Details on Nok's website show it plans to launch on 3 December a thrice-weekly Bangkok Don Mueang-Nakhon Phanom and a twice-weekly Bangkok Mueang-Buriram service.

On 4 December it plans to launch a thrice-weekly Bangkok Mueang-Sakon Nakhon service.

Reports in Thailand, quoting Nok and civil aviation department officials, say Nok plans to service the routes using ATR 72s that Thai Airways has transferred to Nok.

Thai's executive VP commercial Pruet Boobphakam told ATI on 20 November that Thai had transferred its two ATR 72-200s to Nok.

Privately-owned carrier PB Air was serving the routes that Nok Air will be launching services on, but it suspended operations a few weeks ago and has yet to decide when it will resume operations.
