Thales (Hall 3, B4) is to upgrade the Italian army's AgustaWestland A129 helicopter combat mission simulator (CMS), located at its army training base in Viterbo, Italy.
The programme will bring the CMS A129 from version G07 to version G15 Combat. Thales will provide the new flight model, systems software and update the two cockpits. It will also replace the sound/communication/audio warning system.
The upgraded simulator will enter service in late 2006.
Guy Delevacque, Thales senior vice-president for training and services, says: "This is confirmation by Agusta and the Italian MoD of their trust in Thales state-of-the-art technology and long-term support services."
