Thales is to form a joint venture with South Korea’s Dodaam Systems to pursue domestic and international military simulation equipment and services business. The agreement covers co-operation on technology and the possibility of Thales investing more than $20 million in Seoul-based Dodaam.

A joint venture is expected to be established next year. The first product of the co-operation will be a Sikorsky UH-60 helicopter full-flight simulator for the South Korean army. Thales will provide the visual and sensor simulation system, motion system and tactical environment to prime contractor and system integrator Dodaam.
