Meet Stratton Richey, the man behind the microphone here at Farnborough 2000. Stratton has been providing the commentary at Farnborough airshows for more than 20 years and he loves every minute of it. "It's a wonderful job," he says, "but the pressure is always on, because 95% of the visitors know more than I do, so I have to be spot-on with my facts. "This year a number of the major exhibitors have been slow getting information in about their aircraft, so I¹ll be keeping a copy of Jane's All the World¹s Aircraft close to hand. "Stratton, a flying instructor and examiner, was made chief commentator at Farnborough in 1996, the fifth person to hold that post for SBAC shows since the war.
