Sir - In your editorial "Strength and Weakness", (Flight International, 17-23 January) you urge that the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) be given more resources for safety oversight.
When it is stated, however, that "...resources for ICAO oversight and the application of sanctions are as fundamental as the selling of standards", you promote a premise which is neither feasible nor desirable.
