Thiokol has been given US State Department approval to supply Castor IV solid-rocket boosters to Japan and Spain. Castor IVA-XL boosters will be used as strap-on motors for the Japanese H2A satellite launcher, while Castor IVB motors will act as the first stage of the Spanish Capricornio three-stage satellite launcher, due to have its first flight in 2000.
