A Tigerair Airbus A320 had to return back to Macau on 8 November, following an engine problem.
In a statement, the Singapore Airlines low-cost unit, says that flight TR2905, operated by the aircraft registered 9V-TAS (MSN 4493), had departed Macau for Singapore at 19:01 local time.
Tigerair adds that the engine issue had “also affected cabin pressurisation”, but the aircraft landed safely at 20:42 local time.
“The affected aircraft is in Macau and our engineers are currently working towards rectifying the issue,” says the carrier in a statement to FlightGlobal.
Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that MSN 4493 is built in 2010 and is powered by International Aero Engines V2500 engines. The aircraft is owned by Blackbird Capital and managed by Air Lease Corporation.
The engine issue was the third incident in four days for Tigerair.
On 5 November, a bird strike caused one of its aircraft to turn back to Hong Kong while enroute to Singapore. While on 7 November, passengers bound for Bangkok from Singapore had to switch aircraft twice due to “a fault in the braking system” and a “slow engine start”, respectively.
