The Boeing Business Jets orderbook has smashed through the century mark with new commitments being announced for a further batch of five BBJs, taking total orders to 102, it was announced at NBAA yesterday.

The latest batch, which includes an order from China, helps the joint Boeing-General Electric company exceed its sales target for the end of the year.The order book comprises 89 BBJs and 13 BBJ 2s, based on the 737-700 and -800, respectively.

The operational BBJ fleet now numbers 83, with the fleet having accumulated more than 168,000 flight hours and 66,250 flights to date. Boeing also announced the signing of a service contract with Jet Aviation Singapore, bringing to seven the number of authorized global service centers. The network includes three centers in Europe, two in the USA, one in the Middle East, plus the latest site in Asia.

The company is expected to announce a “stretch” version BBJ3 at the Dubai airshow in just over a week. This will be a derivative of the Boeing 737-900ER..
