We would like to point out that the September 2003 issue of Airline Business omitted TransAsia Airlines in the Top 150 Airline Financial Rankings. However, the two other Taiwanese airlines, Far Eastern and UNI Airways are listed respectively as ranking 135 and 141, with less revenue and financial performance when compared with us.

ED - Figures now provided by the airline indeed suggest that TransAsia Airlines would have ranked at 132 in the Airline Business Top 150 ranking of airline groups by revenue (see table). Also, with revenues of $213 million the group would have ranked above Far Eastern Air Transport ($196 million) and UNI Airways ($177 million). Our sister online service Air Transport Intelligence contacts or researches all airline groups with revenues of above the $50-100 million mark for entry into our financial ranking. Although estimates may be made for the major groups, others are omitted if there is no reliable data. Any airline group that has been omitted and wishes to be included in future rankings should contact: atidata@rati.uk
