The past 18 months have been tough on Cintra, the holding company for Aeromexico and Mexicana. According to local reports, higher fuel costs, less traffic and low fares by US carriers have outpaced Cintra's cost cuts. Shares have lost half their value, pushing Cintra's split and the sale of Aeromexico and Mexicana further into the future.
