Simulator maker Thomson Training & Simulation (TTS) is to set up a training centre next to Eurocopter's factory at Marignane, France. The centre, due to open in 2001, will have two TTS-built full-flight simulators, for the AS332 Super Puma Mk1 and Mk2 and the AS365 and EC155 Dauphin. The devices will also provide training on the AS532 Cougar and AS565 Panther military versions. Military training specialist COFRAS is also involved in the venture, which could train 1,000 pilots a year.
