US regional Trans States Airlines is to cease operating as a Delta Connection carrier feeding Delta Air Lines at New York Kennedy Airport by 31 March. Its routes will be transferred to other Delta Connection carriers Atlantic Coast Jet, Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair. Trans State prefers instead to launch a relationship with US Airways, feeding the airline at its Pittsburgh hub with 12 Embraer ERJ-145 regional jets and 12 BAE Systems Jetstream 41s. This operation will start in December. Trans States has been a Delta Connection carrier since March 1998.
