Russia's Transaero has firmed its order for eight Airbus A320neo twinjet, becoming the first customer in the country for the type.
It has yet to disclose an engine selection between the CFM International Leap-1A and the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G.
Transaero initially signed a memorandum of understanding at the Moscow air show in August.
Chief executive Olga Pleshakova said the firmed order demonstrates the carrier's "ambition to become the first operator of this aircraft type in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe".
Transaero is also looking to acquire the Airbus A380, having signed a tentative agreement for four, as well as the Boeing 747-8.
