TransAsia Airways swung to an operating loss of NT$2.49 billion ($76.8 million) in 2015, a major reversal from the NT400 million profit in 2014.
The Taiwanese carrier’s total operating revenue for the 12 months fell 19.9% to NT$10.6 billion, while operating costs climbed 2.4% to NT$11.81 billion.
The poor performance resulted in a net loss of NT$1.44 billion, reversing the NT$209 million in profit it posted in the previous corresponding period.
Flightglobal’s Fleets Analyzer database lists the airline as operating a fleet of 21 aircraft comprised of Airbus A320 family, A330s and ATR 72s. Airbus’s latest backlog shows that the carrier has halved its order for the A321neo from 12 to six.
