Brazilian independent airline Transbrasil has revived plans to acquire Boeing 777s, some 30 months after it scrubbed a deal with Boeing. The Sao Paulo-based airline has signed a letter of intent for four 777-200IGWs, say airline sources in Latin America.

The airline's last deal with Boeing was for three Rolls-Royce Trent 800-powered -200s to replace its 767s on long haul services, but this was cancelled in July 1995.

Transbrasil flies an all-Boeing fleet of 737-300/400s and 767-200/300ERs on scheduled routes within Latin America and to North America and Europe.
