Norway is in talks with the US Air Force over the possibility of taking on some of its Lockheed Martin C-130J transports to fulfil its transport requirement. A response from the USA is expected imminently, says Norwegian defence minister Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen. "I wish we had an aircraft in Afghanistan - we are depending on the other countries," she says. Norway's chief of defence Sverre Diesen says the country hopes to receive four C-130Js by 2009.
