An alliance of Boeing, Ford Motor and Northwestern University will conduct nanotechnology research. Boeing and Ford will provide financial support for three years and the university’s Evanston, Illinois-based McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science will provide administration. Other potential research areas include speciality metals, thermal materials, coatings and sensors.
