Franco-German manufacturer Eurocopter has a trio of types making their Paris debuts this week. The single-engined EC130 is being displayed for the first time in Europe, alongside the EC145, above, and the EC225/EC725 twins.

The EC130 B4 is a derivative of the Ecureuil AS350 B3 with a larger cabin and baggage compartment. With components from the EC120 B Colibri, such as the windshield and doors, it has the same fenestron tail rotor as the EC135. Eurocopter says the nine-passenger EC145 is 60% quieter than its predecessor, the BK 117 C1.The EC225/EC725 on display features a new five-blade Spheriflex main rotor and a hydraulically operated rear ramp. The two-pilot aircraft can accommodate up to 29 troops and a 5,000kg (12,000lb) slung load.
