TRW Aeronautical Systems (Lucas Aerospace) is launching its new internet portal at Paris, having decided to forego collaboration with other suppliers in favour of its own home-grown product.
"E-business is such a powerful tool for TRW that we felt we wanted to move ahead with an aerospace portal as quickly as possible," says president and chief executive Ken Maciver.
"We now have a fully-functional product, offering purchasing functions, supply chain management and engineering collaboration.
"We have been able to develop it faster than if we had been in collaboration with other suppliers. We have a lean, efficient portal that works and are now happy to work with other partners."
