Business aviation advocates say a new revision to the US Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) "Twelve-five" security programme is "not as bad as it could have been".

Douglas Carr, vice-president of safety and regulation for the National Business Aviation Association, says the proposed changes to the 2002 law required Part 135 operators flying aircraft with maximum take-off weight of more than 5,680kg (12,500lb) to have special security programmes.

"The security requirements for the cargo industry made no sense for the on-demand charter industry," he says.
