TU-22M BACKFIRE

The Tu-22M is no longer thought to be in production, although the airframe continues to be used as a the basis for modifications.

The Backfire, although having almost nothing in common with the Tu-22 Blinder, was designated as a modernisation programme of the latter to ensure the availability of funding. Customers: CIS 400+.
