ATR says that a recent request for proposals from Qantas for a large fleet of 50- to 70-seat turboprops is evidence that the market for these aircraft is still bright. Although the market is tough, ATR hopes to reach its target of selling 20 new ATRs this year. It has placed 16 secondhand ATRs so far in 2003.
