Eurocopter has selected the Pratt & Whitney PW206B2 turboshaft to power the EC135 helicopter. According to the manufacturer, the engine "introduces a new One Engine Inoperative thermodynamic power rating at 607kW [815shp], an increase of 11% over the PW206B engine". As a result, the EC135 will be able to operate at higher Category A take-off weights.
