Turkish Airlines has begun recurrent training in Istanbul for Libyan pilots of Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft.
Capt Menderes Cakici, flight training director at Turkish Airlines said: "Because of the civil war in Libya, airline pilots have not been able to fly for more than six months. Turkish Airlines is helping Libyan pilots not to lose their Airline Transport Pilot Licences"
In total, 50 pilots will travel to Turkey for the training. The airline will also assist Libya with recurrent training for pilots of Bombardier CRJ and ATR aircraft.
