Turkish Airlines is to order up to 95 Boeing 737s including 75 of the re-engined Max family, in a surprise narrowbody deal which follows an agreement to take the Airbus A320neo.
The carrier says it will acquire 70 aircraft plus 25 options.
Turkish Airlines says the agreement includes 65 737-8 Max and 10 737-9 Max twinjets, as well as 20 more 737-800s.
Delivery of the aircraft will begin in 2016, the airline says. Twenty will arrive in the first year, with another 20 in 2018. It will take 15 more in 2019, 30 in 2020 and the remaining 10 in 2021.
All 737-800s are powered by CFM International CFM56s while the manufacturer's Leap-1B will power the 737 Max.
