Eurocopter has won the competition to supply Japan with two coastguard and search-and-rescue helicopters with its EC225.
The deal follows the EC225’s selection earlier this year by the Japanese army for VIP transportation for the Japanese emperor and royal family. Sales of Eurocopter helicopters in Japan stand at 360, more than half of the total number of civil and para-military helicopters in the country, says Eurocopter.
