The Italian air force on 31 October recorded the 1,000th flying hour with its Eurofighter Typhoon strike aircraft, 12 of which have now been delivered to the service’s 4th Wing at Grosseto airbase. Rome has so far ordered 75 Typhoons from its stated commitment to acquire 121 of the aircraft from the four-nation Eurofighter consortium.
