Goodyear has introduced an industry first which makes it possible to track the life of an aircraft's tyres. And showing a touch of corporate humour it's called the system-Bumpy.
Tyres on show at Hall 5 (F17) have a vulcanised black on black bar-coded serial number added in addition to the 'normal' number.
Once the individual number has been scanned and stored on a computer system, customers can track the tyre's life cycle. They will of course need to have or purchase a scanner.
