Le Bourget 2005 could see UAVs such as Global Hawk and Predator participating in the flying display. Lars Hoppe, SIAE's sector manager for the UAV exhibition and awareness forum next to Hall 4, says the barriers that stopped the planned use of UAVs at this year's show could be lifted in time for the next Paris air show.

"We are learning a lot about how to ensure safety and I am confident we will have found a way to demonstrate UAVs in the show in two year's time."

Hoppe said that there had been great interest in UAVs by the French public and by show visitors. "This is an area of aviation that is growing in importance and people will demand displays. We should be able to achieve this." Le Bourget 2005 will run from June 12-19.
