Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) is giving cautious consideration to a renewed request from India's Aeronautical Development Agency to establish a joint venture to design and produce unmanned air vehicles for the Indian armed forces. Talks took place during last month's Aero India air show in Bangalore, and while Indian sources are optimistic about the chances of a deal, a source in the Israeli defence ministry says: "The proposed joint development programme has to be thoroughly revised [as] IAI already has a complete product line." IAI has so far sold India UAV systems worth around $500 million.
