The Israeli air force says it will purchase more unmanned air vehicle (UAV) systems from the two Israeli specialists - Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) and Elbit Systems division Silver Arrow. The procurement is a result of the extensive use of UAVs during recent operations against Palestinian areas. During these operations, the air force's principal system was the IAI Searcher 2.
