The UK Government and Hong Kong have signed a bilateral air-services agreement, providing a legal framework for continued flights by British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways and Virgin Atlantic. The bilateral is the first to be signed by Hong Kong since the handover of rule to China. Negotiating air services to the former British colony had previously been the responsibility of the UK.
