Two UK trade associations have merged after several years of talks. The General Aviation Manufacturers and Traders Association (GAMTA) and the Business Aircraft Users Association (BAUA) will operate under the working title British Business and General Aviation Association (BBGA).

The merger has increased overall membership by more than 20% to 160, says Mark Wilson, chief executive of BBGA and formerly head of GAMTA.

He says the move is designed to strengthen the industry's voice in the UK and throughout Europe.
