The 8 February crash, of a Lineas Aereas del Caribe McDonnell Douglas DC-8 freighter near Asuncion, Paraguay, was probably caused by an unauthorised training exercise during, which the co-pilot lost control of the aircraft, after throttling back the number one and two engines during takeoff, according to Paraguay's Civil Aviation Board.
