Airbus has secured orders for 20 A330s from an undisclosed customer, the airframer’s backlog figures have revealed.
The manufacturer has disclosed that the order – a mix of seven A330-200s and 13 A330-300s – was signed on 29 April.
Airbus has already opted to raise monthly production of A330s to seven aircraft next year, having previously cut the output to six.
The airframer gained orders for 41 long-haul aircraft in April including a single A350-900 for an undisclosed customer.
Another 20 A350s were listed against China Eastern Airlines which had previously unveiled a long-haul fleet-modernisation plan.
The manufacturer received orders for 44 A320-family jets in April.
These included the 37 A321s for Delta Air Lines and four A320s and A320neos for Air Cote d’Ivoire, while Avianca converted orders for three A320s into A320neos.
Combined business during the month took Airbus’s net orders to 92.
It delivered 177 aircraft in the first four months of the year, some 10% down on last year’s level during the same period.
These deliveries included six A350s. The airframer is aiming to hand over at least 50 of the type in 2016. Airbus also delivered eight A380s.
