Iberia will seek Spanish government approval to cut 2,516 jobs, something to which most of its unions have already agreed in principle. The redundancies, which would largely come in the form of early retirements, will take place over this year and 2003 and save the Spanish flag carrier Ptas18 billion ($97 million).
