United Airlines is the first airline to offer worldwide passenger booking and ticketing through wireless-enabled Personal Digital Assistants via its EasyAccess service.

EasyAccess is the airline's suite of applications and services allowing travellers to book flights and view itineraries through wireless devices, such as Palm units, by downloading the web clipping application from United's website.

The wireless booking tool allows travellers registered at united.com to purchase an e-ticket for any United Airlines, United Shuttle or United Express flight originating in the USA.

They can also select seating and meal requirements. Later additions will include the ability to change booked flights.

United was the first US carrier to offer Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) booking when it launched the service last November.
