SHUTTLE BY UNITED is to expand its frequencies in eight US West Coast city-pairs and connect San Francisco, California, with Phoenix, Arizona, beginning in early February.

The short-haul discounted air service has expanded from its initial 184 daily departures when it started operations in October 1994, to 342 in 14 West Coast city-pairs.

The unit of United Airlines is in a head-to-head competition with low-cost operator Southwest Airlines in various markets, including the San Francisco to Seattle, Washington, route and Los Angeles, California, to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Shuttle by United is operated as a separate division of United Airlines, using Boeing 737-200s and 737-300s.
